Our team of professional painters is trained to execute the correct exterior house painting procedures. At CorsPaint we understand that the prep work can not be overlooked and there is no short cuts to it. After all if you don’t prep the house the correct way prior to painting then you just basically thrown money down the drain because after all that hard work of exterior house painting you will soon start to see your hard work fail if the exterior of house is not prep the correct way.
The very first thing that needs to be done prior to exterior house painting is power washing of the exterior of the house. Power washing of the house is critical because it removes fungus bacterial such as mold, mildew and algae. The fungus from mold, mildew and algae will hurt your exterior house painting in a number of ways. One of them is that the fungus will effect the adhesion of the new applied paint and that will result in blistering and peeling of the paint. You can now see why powerwashing your home with the correct chemicals to remove this type of fungus is very important. Another tip is that the mildew will also bleed through the paint meaning that basically you will see it even after you apply the paint and that is defiantly an appearance issue that will not look good on a very new painted home.
Second we will discuss caulking, yes that’s right, I said caulking. Caulking is extremely important when it involves exterior house painting because caulking basically prevents moisture from entering into small cracks that could potentially hurt your home in several ways. For example if your house is not caulked correctly meaning all wood seams, openings and cracks are not sealed then you will expose your home to wood rot because the moisture will enter inside the wood seam areas and the water will slowly create more moisture and the wood will soon start swell up and expand with trapped water.
Well that’s it, I could discuss several more reason why prepping is important but if you would like to read more of our blogs and see our amazing work you can visit our facebook fan page.
